~ Episode Guide

1x01 Pilot (Unaired and Aired)
Cameron has been there for six months. She has decided to make herself useful and has begun to handle the department's administrative needs, for example by handling House's mail, forms, etc... Foreman elects Cameron to join him in the effort of breaking into Rebecca's home. As the two doctors search the home Cameron is revealing details about House to Foreman. While taking a break, to eat a ham sandwich, Cameron reflects on Foreman's achievements and sealed juvy records. It makes her wonder about why House hired her. Toward the end of the episode, House walks into his office and finds Cameron sitting in his chair. He is a bit taken aback when she abruptly asks him "Why did you hire me?" House raises his eyebrows and continues walking through the door to the other room to pour coffee. Then, House tells Cameron that he hired her because he thinks she's very attractive. Cam is alarmed and replies "You hired me to get in my pants?" House doesn't answer her question directly. Tells her that she is like art in a lobby, good to look at. He wanted to unsettle her and it worked. Cameron lists off all her qualifications and whether or not she was the best candidate. Finally House redirects to a conversation about how because she was so good looking she could have taken the easy road and done something else. But House admits he admires her for working her stunning little ass off to become a doctor. He also suspects she is damaged and tries to pry out of her what's happened in the past. The beeper saves her. The pilot ends with the song "You can't always get what you want" by the rolling stones.

1x02 Paternity
House confronts Cameron with a letter. "What's the differential diagnosis for writing G's like a junior high-school girl?" Cameron who forged House's signature on the letter to patient's family because she's seen that the family has tried to contact House several times. "Perseverance does not equal worthiness," House responds. House suggests if Cameron wants to get his attention in the future, she should wear low rider jeans, which are hot. Cameron ignores the comment and begins presenting the physical symptoms to House. When house hears that the 16 yr old boy is having night terrors he is intrigued. As he leaves to talk with the patient he tells Cameron, "Good work." When House examines the boy and begins to probe if there is any sexual abuse. Cameron looks down and then away. When Dan tells House that he got hit in the head during the Lacrosse game, House turns to Cameron, "Did you know he got hit in the head?" Cameron says that the family didn't mention it. House leaves the exam room. When House tells Dan he needs glasses, Cameron is in the background rolling her eyes and frowning. As House exits the area, Cameron confronts him. "I brought a reasonable case to your attention, and you shoved it in my face just to humiliate me." At this point, House asks Cameron if she is an only child. He has judged that Cameron believes everything is about her. Cameron admits she is not an only child. At the first session of differential diagnosis, Cameron writes the symptoms on the board and House says "I recognize that loopy G." House then proceeds to say that Cameron didn't take an accurate family history, she defends herself. When House is pointing out the problem with the brain MRI, he makes a crack about how Dan shifted his brain hemisphere during the procedure to get more comfortable. Cameron smiles widely at this statement. Later during the differential diagnosis after Dan's trip to the roof, Cameron says to the group, "What about sex?" House replies as if she had propositioned him, "Well, it might get complicated. We work together. I am older, certainly, but maybe you like that." Cameron brings the conversation back to the diagnosis discussion and House says nice cover. While Chase administers the treatment and Cameron is leaning over the patient there is a discussion about her necklace/cleavage. When House shows up in the lab with the coffee cups and tells Cameron to run the DNA, she balks, "I can't believe you'd do this?" He tells her that he's had this conversation already and unless she has something better to do, she should run the DNA tests. After Cameron walks away, House stares at the screen pensive.

1x03 Occam's Razor
This is the episode with the type of sex-that-can kill-you discussion. In the lab, Chase jokes with Foreman that the girlfriend thinks she rode the 22 year old to death. Then Cameron teases Chase with this statement "I hope you got some specifics on exactly what was going on. It’s a girl who thinks it could kill you… it’s worth knowing about." Chase gives her this sexy stare and says have you every killed anyone. Later, when Chase is out of earshot, Forman admonishes Cameron for her dialogue with Chase. Cameron replies, "So, a woman can’t express her interest in sex without it being some professional powerplay?" In walks House unbeknownst to the other doctors and he says. "No. If you look the way you do, and you say what you said, you have to be aware of the effect that it’ll have on men." So then Cameron replies, "Men should grown up." and the next Houseism is: "Yeah. And dogs should stop licking themselves, it’s not gonna happen." Chase comes in and asks what's going on. The conversation dies. Then ther
e is a scene in the office, where Chase is pouring coffee while Cameron is studying notes. He is distracted by her spills the coffee. Cameron appears to be testing House's theory, on Chase. She begins by stating that she is uncomfortable talking about sex but proceeds to detail the physical impact of an orgasm and how it could kill you. All the while watching Chase's reaction.

1x04 Maternity
House notices that Cameron is having trouble dealing with death and letting the families know the seriousness of the baby's illness. Wilson also notices this. Cameron shows compassion to the baby's parents by letting them hold their baby as the sheets are changed. When the baby dies, House tells Cameron she has to break it to the parents. House sends Wilson to follow her and make sure she does her job. Cameron freezes. Wilson helps her out. House admonishes Wilson for bailing Cameron out and they agree she has a problem dealing with death. At some point, House gets a hold of Cameron's compassionate gesture to have the parents hold the first baby and at the end of the episode confronts Cameron with this knowledge. House asks if Cameron has ever lost a baby. Cameron calls him a bastard.

1x05 Dammed if You Do
House teases Cameron about the candy canes that she set out to decorate the office. She gets visibly rattled when she thinks she has offended him. Cameron defends House to other team members when everyone thinks he screwed up the syringe dosage. During the episode Cameron reveals she doesn't believe in God. Foreman teases her because she appears to have more faith in House than in God. Then when situation looks bleak Cameron comes to House to offer nice words and House is gruff with her telling her he doesn't need her approval and she should be so nice. That's when Cameron gives House her Christmas present. Chase interrupts them. When medical mystery is solved Chase is praising Cameron for getting the right diagnosis but House admonishes her for not sticking by it like Foreman did. Later at the end of the episode it looks like House got her a present as well - red wrapped box.

1x06 The Socratic Method
When patient's son returns with House's sandwich, Cameron reveals she knows exactly how House likes his Ruben for lunch. Her eagerness to meet the boy is rebuffed by House "Save it - we're busy." Then, after everyone leaves the scene Cameron approaches House, as he munches on the sandwich, and he assures her that the sandwich is to his liking. She responds by saying Happy Birthday to House. He says "Okay, whose?" To which Cameron reveals that she has been looking through his forms and found out that this day was his birthday. House shows little reaction. But as she walks away he watches her, chewing his sandwich, thinking. Later during a differential diagnosis session, Cameron makes two cups of coffee and unobtrusively sets one down at the table for House. Later in episode Cameron visits House is the office to ask him why he thinks celebrating a happy occasion is lame. House shoos her away to join in the surgery.

1x07 Fidelity
House chooses Chase and Foreman to talk with the patient and Cameron confronts House. Doesn't he think she can do the job. House admits he checked her medical records and found no prescriptions for pre-natal vitamins. So she couldn't have lost a baby. "You checked my file?" Cameron asks. House says he was concerned because she coughed the other day. Cameron said you were curious like an eight year old trying to figure out a puzzle that too grown up for him. Cut to later in the episode when House finds Cameron crying over the centrifuge. Cameron admits to House that she was married and watched her husband die. House says that this is only part of the problem, he deduces that she knew her husband was going to die before she married him. House almost admires that Cameron married him anyway and tells her she can't be that good and well adjusted at the same time. When Cameron asks why, he replies you end up crying over centrifuges. But Cameron tests him .. "or hating people" Just then, you guessed it the pager goes off.

1x08 Poison
When House sends Foreman and Cameron to the boy’s home, Foreman explains the reason why House thinks the kid is a drug addict is that House himself is a drug addict and believes everyone else is as well. Cameron defends House as not a drug addict to Foreman. She says "He's in pain" Forman counters "And addicted to pain killers" Cameron is noticing that Foreman has many of similar traits to House and points this out to Foreman. She teases Foreman saying they should chip in and get him a nice cane because he already has the same gym shoes as House. (She notices the shoes) In the lab while House explains the patient started seizing, it is Cameron who suggests pesticide poisoning. When determining the treatment, Chase says there are over 40 different possible types. Both House and Foreman say "Get all of them" at the same time and Cameron says, "Great minds think alike." When ducklings determine that they need the treatment for a West Nile Virus pesticide, they inform House that the mother has called the CDC for a consult. She is refusing to them do anything until she hears back from the CDC. House suggests that Foreman talk her out of her lunacy. Foreman replies "She's not a big fan of mine and Chase echoes his statement. So House says "Only one man left in the bullpen and he throws like a girl" Cameron admits she hates sports metaphors and House says as she walks away, "Give her the high hard one." Cameron uses empathy as a tactic and the mother dismisses her sarcastically as having been sent in because she is sympathetic, a woman and pretty. Cameron gets angry - drops the nice girl act - says they sent a doctor in to tell her the treatment her son needs and says the mother needs to make a decision right now. Gets her to comply. After this treatment doesn't work, in the office House is tossing around theories and Cameron is the one reading House's thoughts and finishing the conclusions.

1x09 DNR
Dr. Hamilton called to have Foreman work on John Henry Giles (musician). House is clearly uncomfortable not being the lead on the case. As Foreman and House bicker about whose case it is and what treatment they should follow. Chase and Cameron get up, sit down, roll eyes and sigh. Scene where House is on the floor rug with headphones listening to jazz. Something happens and the patient is unable to breathe. As Chase and Cameron prepare to intubate Foreman says they can't because of the DNR. House walks in at this point, sees their inactivity and angrily intubates John Henry Giles. Once this is done, Cora comes in and demands to know what House just did. Cameron replies, "He saved his life", and then House exchanges a look with her. Later in the office, Foreman and House argue about the ethics of his actions. Foreman accuses House of having screwed up and House points out that technically Foreman screwed up and now looks bad in front of his old boss. During this argument, House claims that he was able to disregard the DNR because John Henry’s thyroid levels were low, hence depression and John Henry wasn't competent to sign the DNR in the first place. Cameron sticks up for House confirming the thyroid levels were low. House doesn't let up and Foreman leaves the room. When Cameron goes toward the door after Foreman, House catches the action and tells her "I'm sure he just went to the little boys room." Calls her back into the discussion about why John Henry crashed. At this point the sexy court lady shows up and House says, "Cuddy sent me a stripper again?" This prompts a look of confusion Cameron's face. But House automatically hands Cameron the papers he is served by the sexy court lady. It is Cameron who opens the letter and informs House that it is a restraining order. During subsequent conversations in the lab Cameron admits she is not like Foreman, she doesn't hate House. The conversation between John Henry and House is interesting. John Henry tells House he has one thing in his life - the diagnosis of diseases - and there is room for nothing else i.e. no little woman waiting at home with a drink and a kiss. House is pensive throughout the discussion.

1x10 Histories
Early on in the episode while Foreman is trying to convince the team to evict the patient, House takes the woman's bag and dumps contents on table. It appears that there is still moist vomit on a shirt. House actually takes some on his finger and tastes it to determine chemical imbalance. Cameron gags watching him do this. While Cameron is conducting the ultrasound on Victoria. Chase grumbles about why they are on the case. Cameron suggests that House took the case because Dr. Wilson asked him. Chase muses that House just wants to prove Foreman wrong. Cameron makes a reference like, "Oh! You boys!" Later in the lab, they determine that there is a mass on the ovary. House and Wilson debate the unlikelihood that it is a tuburculoma instead of ovarian cancer. House concedes he's way off and then dictates a treatment. It is Cameron who catches that this treatment is for tuburculoma. When she brings this up to House in front of everyone House returns with sarcasm "And what is the treatment for Ovarian Cancer." [This show read most like a detective story]

1x11 Detox
Wilson gets House a sexy masseuse and they both act like schoolboys around her. Cameron admonishes House for mocking the patient's father. Cameron also confronts House about his bet with Cuddy - is it really worth all the pain he's going through. Later in the show, she is exasperated that House doesn't believe her diagnosis of lupus. She is angry that House asked her to lie to the father. House tells her always trusting him is a big mistake. At this point, Foreman has caught onto Cameron's worship of House and he turns to her with the question, "What does the man have to do to piss you off?" While House is performing the autopsy (not right word for animals I know), Cameron watches the pained, exhausted and trembling House dissect the cat to determine the cause of the boy's illness. It appears she thinks about interrupting him, but decides against it and continues down the hall. Based on the results of the autopsy, House barges into the OR and halts the liver transplant surgery. Then we see House walking down the hall with everyone and the angry father approaches yelling he wants House locked up. He hits House and House in his weakened condition, sluggishly drops to the floor. But he remains true to his stand, and continues to explain in rational terms his reasons for interrupting the transplant. The dad does not want to believe House, but Cameron quietly assures him that House is right. After which, House sends a tired but grateful look in her direction and struggles, unaided, to his feet. At the end of the episode House admits to Wilson he is a functioning addict. A bit of a tiff ensues and Wilson confronts House - stating that he has changed since the leg, he has no relationships. House fights back saying he doesn't want any relationships. [This is my favorite episode ... I love when the father hits house and says "I want him locked up!"]

1x12 Sports Medicine
House asks Cameron if she has 50 $20 bills. Later the ducklings are having a lunch/drink at restaurant and Chase brings up House's request for money in a snide comment. Foreman suggests the money is for multiple hookers. Cameron acts offended. Foreman is shocked and says to Cameron, you don't think the man has sex. Chase teases her that House doesn't have sex but makes love. Cam is blushing. In reality, House actually scored tickets to a monster truck rally and Wilson turns him down. Cameron is in the office shuffling papers when House walks in and proceeds to ask him if he'd give up a baby to save someone you love. House doesn't want to get engaged in the conversation but does. Then with hesitation, he asks Cameron to go to the truck rally. Like a date, exactly except for the date part. Late in the episode the ducklings are being treated to lunch by the new drug rep. House walks up to them and send the rep to get him a coffee. He sits down at the table and surmises that the drug rep is sleeping with one of the team to get to him. He says to Cameron, "Please tell me its you." Then House reveals that it is Foreman and Cameron and Chase act shocked. At the end of the episode shows them having a good time at the monster truck rally. Cameron asks House if he was ever married. House admits he lived with someone for a while. They pick at Cameron's cotton candy cone and walk off with Cameron saying she would race House to the car.

1x13 Cursed
During the initial differential diagnosis session, Foreman suggests chlymidia. Cameron responds by saying that 12 yr olds don't have sex. House response 'They're mistake." And Cameron watches him here. This is the episode where Chase's father shows up and we find out Chase is 26 years old. AS the team looks at the CT Scan of the brain, House asks them to look again for something less obvious and more scary. Cameron who has at this point been standing behind House on the right side moves in closer. House backs up to let her in and appears to be leaning his head toward her as she is looking at the scan. Cameron guesses the disease and says "Oh God! It can be transmitted through animal hair" House knows she has it and responds that something may have clouded the test results. Cameron names the treatment and after she walks out of the circle. The other two listen to the conversation. What does he have? Asks Foreman. "Anthrax" replies House. Later while they are doing an MRI on the brain Cameron tries to encourage Chase to make up with his father. Chase tells her if she likes him so much than she should marry him. Cameron teases Chase about being his step mom when she marries his father. When House figures out the disease he tells Cameron to call down to Louisiana to get the drug that will cure the boy. Cameron questions him on it and House retorts 12 yr olds don't have sex. When Chase tells House that his dad left him and his mom drunk herself to death, House says that Cameron would care about him more.

1x14 Control
At the start of the differential diagnosis session, Cameron is calling her fellow ducklings by their first names. She has decided to use soft positional bargaining techniques with the team to get them to agree with her diagnosis and treatment suggestions. House notices it right away and calls her on it, tells her to cut it out. He says "Read less, More TV." When Chase screws up House blasts him in front of everyone. Chase admits to Cameron he is afraid of being fired. Cameron approaches House to let him know that Chase is worried about his job. House says he wants Chase scared because of the threat of Volger. Cameron follows house out of the office and asks why doesn't House think that encouragement would be a better tactic. House is in the hallway and confronts her why is she doing this. Cameron asks, "Doing what?" House says she is manipulating people. Cameron stammers and admits that people dismiss her, they don't like her, because she is a woman, because she is pretty. House tells her everyone likes her. He walks away and Cameron asks House if he likes her. House turns around slowly, looking around because they are in a hallway. Cameron approaches him lowers her voice and says, "I have to know." House stares her dead in the eye and says "No." Cameron looks down and then back at him, nodding saying okay and then walks off. House watches her as she leaves.

1x15 Mob Rules
During Joey's MRI, Cameron reveals to Chase that she asked House if he liked her. Then she admits to Chase that she likes House. Chase is surprised - You like him *like* him. Cameron responds it doesn't matter he doesn't like me. Then, Chase reassures her saying House doesn't like anybody followed by ... no one likes House. House wants to keep the patient and Chase and Foreman disagree. House turns to Cameron and says, "Cameron’s my girl." Then Cameron goes against House saying she'd release him. So House challenges her, "Are you disagreeing with me because –" Then Cameron cuts him off before he can reveal any more, "I’m disagreeing because that’s my medical opinion." Patient was released by Vogler and shows up again with different symptoms. Then, when reviewing the liver tests Chase maintains that his tests and the symptoms point to chronic condition. House disagrees - sudden onset equals proximate cause. Asks about a different test. Cameron states normal alb levels point to acute - siding with House. Chase challenges House - why are her test results better than mine. House replies because she is cuter. Cameron blushes and smiles inwardly and looks down. As Chase and House bicker about whether to start the Hep C treatment, Cameron is watching the exchange carefully. Again around the table debating why the estrogen level is so high, House turns to Cameron, who is standing next to Chase, and asks what else would make the estrogen level so high. Cameron looks at him and is the only one to respond "Nothing." So they bring in the pig to detox the mob guys blood. Later in the lab Foreman asks Cameron how much does she really like House. Foreman teases Cameron about how her tummy must feel when House is around - a good kind of pain. Cameron says Chase has a big mouth and defends herself. Doesn't she have the right to like someone. Foreman says absolutely and he has the right to tease her about it. Just then House walks in and proceeds to look over her shoulder for confirmation about their patient's smoking history. This unsettles Cameron - the look on her face shows how his close proximity affects her physically. But when House is gone and Foreman teases her and again she defends herself.

1x16 Heavy
Early in episode House tells group that he has to fire one of them - obviously because of Vogler. Cameron suggests the team stick together. Foreman agrees. House calls Cameron pathetically sincere to the mother of their patient. They convene for differential diagnosis and this time Chase pours a cup of coffee that he hands to House as he sits down. House is surprised and shoots Cameron a look. Cameron has watched this and gives Chase a look of pity - like poor guy thinks he will get fired so he's sucking up now. Then she looks back at House. It is interesting to note that Cameron is standing at the door with her arms crossed, not sitting at the table as usual. They are discussing why patient presented with skin necrosis. House determines that an overdose of one of the medications the team gave her could have caused the problem. House accuses Cameron of making a mistake, giving the wrong medication. House questions Chase to see if he will vouch for her, Chase refuses to back her up. Cameron is fuming. As the ducklings leave the room she tells Chase making her look bad isn't going to save his job. Later, House goes into the lab where Cameron is working. You see House standing outside the glass trying to make eye contact with Cameron, trying to gauge how angry/upset she really is over the situation. He walks into her area and tells her to remind him not to correct one of her mistakes. He is making light of the situation. Cameron doesn't find this funny and defends herself saying she didn't make a mistake and that's why House's treatment isn't working. Cameron is in the lab looking for a solution. House says when you come up with something, let me know, I'll be in clinic warming up. Then Cameron turns on him and spats with House like a wounded puppy. I always defend you even when you screw up. House asks, "Why?" Cameron retorts by saying she's the opposite of all of House's bad qualities... that she isn't insecure, she trusts people and she's not an angry, misanthropic SOB. House mocks her with, "... you said you weren't angry." Cameron looks back into the microscope. But then after a pause, he asks Cameron who would she fire. Cameron sighs and then comes up with a win-win situation. House mocks her for not wanting to hurt anyone. Cameron mocks House for not dealing with the whole issue. House leaves scene and proceeds to Cuddy's office to present Cameron's deal - he even worked out the exact percentage cut that would be required. Cuddy is impressed. But the idea is rejected by Vogler. Later in episode Cameron goes in to House's office. "Can we talk?" she says. He thinks she is there to apologize and she tells him she's not going to. He reaches for the vicodin. Cameron asks if House wants to fire her. House thinks this line of thinking is absurd and so tells her he is thanking God Vogler came along so he can get rid of her. Cameron has surmised that House wants to get rid of her because he can't handle his feelings for her. She stops House from walking away from the conversation with this and House is all over the place in his replies - only you've expressed feelings so far ... that's why you've been acting strange. Then he tells her I've found the solution. But Cameron mocks him then, "Why aren't you watching TV or playing your gameboy, or whatever else it is you do alone." This renders House speechless. Then, Cameron suggests that maybe she should just quit and House calls the bluff. "Maybe you should." he says.

1x17 Role Model
House challenges Chase about keeping his job and when Chase gives an annoyed look, House implies that Chase knows he is protected. Chase defends his actions in the process of rebuttal House mentions that no one will get fired and that Vogler saw the error of his ways. Later, Cameron discovers when at the computer answering House's email, that House will be giving a speech. Chase doesn't believe it. At this point, House comes in and confirms that the speech is part of how he got to keep his team. Cameron tries to thank House, he refuses to allow her to express her feelings and Chase motions for her to exit. Later at the clinic, Cameron again approaches House to express gratitude. Before she finishes House mocks her insistence that he know how grateful she is. Cameron changes tactics and asks him if he knows why people pray to God. After admitting that it means something to her to be grateful House says that she is the most naive atheist he ever met. He walks away to see the patient and turns back. He says, "People pray to God so that he doesn't crush them" pauses and says "I'm not going to crush you" to which Cameron beams a smile in return as House retreats. Then Wilson is challenging House as to why he ordered the second HIV test and manages to disarm House's defenses by hinting that he has tried to hit on Cameron. Wilson knows the deal and is laughing as he tells House, "You are in trouble." House says nothing and shrugs it off. But, then he walks into the lab where Cameron is working. He says, "You like me. Why?" to Cameron. She deflects answering by telling him it is a sad question to ask. House just tells her he is trying to figure her out. He is not warm and fuzzy and she is a stuffed animal made by grandma. Cameron tells him she thinks this question has to do with the speech and House tells her not to pick him apart. She then challenges him to tell her what he wants to hear as a reply. House doesn't answer and he walks out of the lab. Later, House goes to dinner but does not follow through on speech. He has forfeit one duckling. The last scene of the night is Cameron arriving at House's apt (home?) to tell him that she is quitting. House asks, "Why?" Goads her about self-sacrificing herself to save Forman. She tells him she is protecting herself. She admits to him that she likes him despite him being abrasive and rude because he does what is right. Cameron puts her hand out to shake House's hand but he doesn't return the gesture, doesn't look at her. With tears in her eyes, she says she only knows how to deal with things two ways, one of which is in her control. She says in a whisper, "Goodbye House" and she walks out. House is standing there blinking back tears as he looks up and away after she's gone. (This is the most interaction out of all the episodes)

1x18 Babies & Bathwater
House is having a dream that he has diagnosed Vogler with cancer. Foreman and Chase wake House, who has been sleeping in the exam room at the clinic. House looks disheveled and mutters that he didn't sleep much the night before (presumably the night that Cameron quit). The pregnant woman Foreman is presenting to House appears to have a gestational immune deficiency. House tells Foreman and Chase, it's too bad they don't have an immunologist on the team since Cameron quit. Foreman says when - House says "Last night." Foreman refuses to believe him and says, "There's no way she quit!" When they leave, Foreman is mad at Chase for not sticking up for Cameron in the conversation and they verbally exchange insults until they get to the patient. Then they plaster smiles on their faces and approach the patient as a happy team. During this episode, there are various references to Cameron missing - mail piled on House's desk, House can't find the sugar/splenda, etc... In House's office Foreman and Chase discuss why the mom won't have the c-section. Because she doesn't like the odds. Foreman says that if Cameron were here she would point out some people are capable of self-sacrifice. House turns on Foremand and says, "Cameron's not here." He mentions that he wants to increase the odds for the mom and wonders why Wilson hasn't returned his pages. House goes to see Wilson in his office. Wilson is packing because he was forced to resign. Wilson reveals he is the only person who stood up for House and it cost him his job. He rants that their friendship didn't matter enough for House to give one speech. House looks down - possibly thinking about this impact of his actions on Wilson and Cameron - he says, "They matter. If I could do it again.." Wilson knows he'd do the same thing over again, says so and House agrees. Wilson nods that he will find out if there is a trial cancer therapy for the mother. They finally get the mother to agree to the c-section and then right before the procedure takes place Vogler calls off the surgery. House finds Vogler and yells at him in the hallway. Cuddy watches this exchange. Later, Cuddy mentions that House's inability to get along with others (toe the line) basically cost him Cameron and Wilson. House leaves to take care of the patient. Then in the end Vogler gets the boot. (hurrah!) Wilson, House, Chase and Foreman are in House's office having Champagne. Cuddy comes in to join them mourning the loss of $100 MM.

1X19 Kids
House arrives at Cameron's apartment early in the morning while she is working out. Cameron immediately comments on House's new cane, noticing the details... as usual. House starts with logical update on events at the hospital - Vogler is gone, things can go back the way they were. Cameron says things were pretty wierd and House says weird works for him. Cameron asks why is House at her door. House says he wants Cameron to come back. Cameron said that's not good enough. At this point the beeper goes off. Cameron crosses her arms, looks worried and begins to tense up. House tells her "Don't clench, when you clench - I clench and it's this whole thing." As he admits the last part about the impact she has on him, his voice lowers considerably and he looks away from her. She tells him to look at the beeper and he does. House dismisses the message, says there is an epidemic at the hospital. House comments that isn't his area and he's not needed. Cameron says, "You should go, it's important." House replies that what he's doing now is important. She asks "Why do you want me to come back?" and House replies that she is a good doctor. Cameron responds, "That's it?" When House doesn't respond, Cameron tells him to go deal with his plague and shuts the door on House. During episode House interviews one candidate for the immunology position, a girl who reminds him of Cameron, and asks her if she is leaving her job because she fell for the boss and can't handle it anymore. Wilson reacts to this with surprise. Then in the lobby area, Wilson confronts House and says he should stop being an ass. He always finds a flaw in people to push them away. Wilson says something like you had a perfectly good person and you threw her away. House thinks Wilson is talking about the last interview applicant. No. Wilson is talking about Cameron. House says, "Cameron is SO not perfect." Wilson responds that no one is perfect. House names Mother Teresa and Wilson tells him she's dead. House counters with Angelina Jolie. Wilson turns to him and says if you aren't careful you'll end up alone. This makes House pause for a moment until Foreman interrupts with the news that the swimmer is bleeding in the brain. When the swimmer is talking to her parents House is watching intently. Chase sees this and says that the girl is responding to treatment. House replies absently, "I know." At the end of the episode, House returns to Cameron's apartment. He is knocking insistently with his cane. Cameron recognizes the knock and rolls her eyes as she approaches the door. House start the conversation, "I don't want to interview anyone else." Cameron retorts that she is surprised he isn't just ordering head shots with the CV. House laughs at this. Tells her "Good one... That's why I need you around ... To keep me in my place" At the same time it appears House is trying to determine if Cameron is alone by peeking inside the apartment. Cameron closes the door so he cannot see inside. He asks her to come back and work for him. She says, "I already told you I can't come back." House says he wasn't listening and Cameron responds "Right." House picks up on this and says, "You want me to listen to you more, I can do that." Cameron looks down now, "Right," she continues,"I've already accepted a position somewhere else." House stares at her unsure whether to believe it is true and asks "Who?" (not where). She replies Yule at Jefferson. House looks her dead in the eye "Unaccept." Cameron punches out the question with a gravelly voice, "Why?". House looks to the side and proceeds to go on about Yule's bad qualities - boring, pedantic, preachy ... short. He finishes and when there is no response from Cameron says because I want you to come back. Cameron while signing (and a hint of a smile) returns this with, "Not good enough." House seizes on the indication that he could get her back with something else and tries offering her more salary, parking spot. He looks at her for response and she says the word "Dinner" with a pause. Then tells him it has to be a date. House is struck by this, looks at her with those wide-eyed burning cobalt blues and says, "You'll come back to work if I take you out on a date." Pauses and says it's a deal. He then extends his hand for a handshake, righting the wrong of not shaking her hand last time. Then she says she will see him tomorrow. House trying to get the last word in says, "Don't be late." Cameron says she won't and closes the door. House's expression is almost tinged with fear - he looks down and then straight - thinking as he walks away.

Happy reunion when Cameron shows up at the office; Foreman hugs her. House asks Cameron not to reveal the terms of the deal. Cameron doesn't comply and immediately spills guts. Has a more gutsy approach to her co-workers (teacher's pet syndrome?) Cuddy approaches House and tells him it's good that he is opening up to some one. House makes a reference to her blouse and Cuddy responds that Cameron is the only one who could deal with him. Wilson approaches Cameron and tells her she'd better be sure about wanting House because if he gets hurt it may be the last time he'll every try to open up to someone. Foreman approaches House and tells him to nip it in the bud. Gives him advise on how to break it off. Cameron approaches House asking about the date and what she should wear. House teases her about going to a paintball contest. Cameron takes this literally. House tells her to relax and reveals the restaurant. He tells her she should wear spandex. House is getting ready for the date at home. Wilson is sitting on the couch telling House how to knot his tie. He tells House to open doors for her and House snarks that he has been on a date before. Wilson counters, "Ah.. Not since disco died." Wilson advises House to complement her on her shoes and her earrings, then talk about her HDA. When House gives Wilson a questioning look, Wilson elaborates, "Her Hopes, Dreams and Aspirations .. trust me it's a panty peeler." House goes to the frig and Wilson says get him a beer as well. House says no alcohol. House reveals the corsage he has bought and asks Wilson if the gesture is lame. Wilson says he thinks Cameron likes "Lame." Then we have the scene where House is sitting across Cameron in an Italian restaurant - Cameron likes the corsage. She fingers it and then tells House he looks handsome. House looks down and mutters, "Thank you." House tries to make small talk complimenting her earrings and then her shoes. Cameron tells him she's not expecting him to be different. Then she says she has one night and one change to find out how House feels about her. House is brutally truthful. Tells her that she's not really interested in him, she just needs to save someone. She doesn't love, she needs and he fits her need because he's damaged. When at work the next morning, everyone wants to know what happened. Neither House nor Cameron are telling. Wilson asks House if there will be another date. House says he doesn't think so. When Cameron is asked the same question by her co-workers she's more vague. The patient's dom tells House that Harvey isn't a freak. She explains that there is something special about trusting someone and being completely vulnerable to another. It changes you she says. Makes House think. Episode ends with House staring at a photo of him with Stacy.

1X21 Three Stories
In this episode Cuddy enlists House to substitue for a professor's diagnostics class. As a bribe, Cuddy offers House two hours off clinic duty. House says, "Fine I'll have Cameron do it she loves inspiring the inspired." Cuddy insists that House teach the class. House reluctantly agrees and starts for the lecture hall. He is interropted by his ex-girlfriend Stacy who is requesting that House do her a favor and try to diagnose her husband. House didn't know that Stacy was married. He is visably upset and tells her "I'm not sure I want him to live." Then House goes in and begins discussing three cases - a farmer, a volleyball player and a golpher/drug addict. House uses an example of Cameron to explain how caring too much about a patient isn't the correct way to diagnose. There is a segway to a scene where Cameron is talking about the volleyball players life and how she thinks she is depressed. House reveals that every time a patient thanks Wilson for telling them he is dying, House has to pay him $10. House espouses that "Everybody lies" and tells the class when someone is dying you find out what they are willing to lie about. During class dialogue, House begins to draw a tea-colored circle and questions the class on what would cause brown color in urine. None of the students are guessing correctly. It is making House really angry. Cameron pipes in from the back of the room, "Muscle death." Subtle indication that if she was presented with these symptoms she would have guessed the problem. House looks up at her, looks away with a grimace, and says, "It's not your case." Cameron says there is nothing wrong with a consult and has a little smirk on her face. House carries on with the volleyball player's case - no adenoma. When the students question House as to why the volleyball player is getting the MRI on the leg. House says in reference to Cameron, "Because the neck scan revealed nothing and her doctor is way more obsessive than she thinks she is" You see Cameron in the back of the classroom roll her eyes. House knows she is in the back listening. The student continues, "But you said the guy needed the MRi. House aggitated returns, becuase Dr. Cameron said muscle death and not one of you (meaning students) said it .. not one of this guys doctors said it. The female student asked if he got better and House reveals that it took three days for the patient to diagnose the muscle death to the doctor. AS House is describing how all three patients were informed of the leg surgery that is necessary. House explains that for the golpher/druct addict patient the MRI revealed an infarction. The camera cuts to Foreman as he turns to Cameron and says "You were right, the patient is House." Apparently Cameron had figured out that House was talking about what had happened to him. The scene flashes back to House in the hospital bed and Stacy at his side. House is refusing to have his leg amputated. He asks only for the blood clot to be removed knowing that he will be in severe pain. Cuddy is his doctor. After the surgery House is in awful pain. He suffers a heart attack and has visions. Now the room is packed and Wilson, Foreman and Cameron are asking questions about House becuase they know he is talking about his personal near death experience. House decides he wants to be put into a chemically induced coma until the worst of the pain subsides. While comatose, Stacy becomes in charge of his treatment because of the health care proxy. Stacy goes against House's wishes to have them remove the dead muscle which permanently damaged his leg. She signs the paperwork. House then tells the class that becuase of the extent of the muscle cells removed the leg is no longer functional. The class debates the ethics of Stacy's actions as clearly they still think this is an example case study. Finally House asks when the bell rings for class to be over. Cuddy - who apparently has been listening in for a while from a side door - informs him that the class was due to finish 20 minutes ago. House exists telling her he will never substitute again. In addition, House diagnosed the teacher - he is sick because his children used lead based paint to color the father's mug and it is poisoning him.

1X22 Honeymoon
This is the season finale. The episode starts off with House in a restaurant with his ex-girlfriend Stacy. It appears that Marc, Stacy's husband has been dodging attempts to get House to examine him. House doses Marc's beer and then goads him into chugging it with snarky comments. Marc blacks out and an ambulance arrives to transport the patient to the hospital. In the initial differential diagnostics session first Cameron immidates House to her peers, which they do not find amusing. Then House walks in and Cameron asks who thinks Marc is sick. House says his wife. Cameron corrects him with "You mean the woman you used to live with." House turns to her and says that was her indian name and her name on license plate is Stacy. Cameron questions why he is taking on the case. She says "What happens to everybody lies?" House replies he was lying. House orders tests. He walks along with Wilson who tells him to treat the husband and stay away from the wife. Wilson advises House to treat this like any other patient and be himslef - cold, uncaring and distant. While Cameron and Chase are bring House p to speed with the test results, Foreman approaches and states that exploratory surgery can't happen. House forces the issue. Cameron questions this approach. House turns to her and says, "Dr. Cameron has a diagnosis." Cameron is taken aback by the statement and stammers she thinks it is premature to cut him open without knowing what he has. House argues with her. House sliencs her with "His wife is a laywer; she's very convincing." House calls the team in to view the video of the exporatory and notices Cameron eyeing the half empty bottle of booze. Tells her to stop looking at the bottle. When they realize the problem is neurological, House turns to the team with a smirk and says, "I forget who said it was nothing?" They believe Marc may have Alzheimers. AS House is reviewing next steps he picks up the patient's file and turns to Cameron saying the file felt a little light. Cameron responds with "I took a complete medical history." House orders Foreman and Chase to investigate patient's home in Short Hills. Cameron rebukes House that this is a peeping-Tom move for him to spy on his ex. House responds with "Her secret diary, that's the main thing." Everyone leaves to handle their piece of the puzzle. While Cameron is in the lab testing for Alzheimers, Stacy approaches. Cameron tells Stacy House thinks it is Alz. Stacy responds she doesn't believe any in the history. Then Cameron asks Stacy if she was with House when the infarction occured.(* Cameron just heard the story in last week's episode* Stacy responds to Cameron with a soft Oh and you're is interested in House. Cameron reveals they went on one date and it didn't go very well. Stacy says their first date didn't go well either. Stacy offers to answer any questions Cameron has. Cameron just wants to know what House was like before the leg. Stacy says pretty much the same. After a brain MRI reveals that Marc is delusional, House believes Marc has AIP but cannot confirm unless Marc has another attack. House explains he can create an attack by injecting a cocktail into Marc. Marc refuses. Stacy pushes House to go ahead despite Marc's refusal. When House capitulates and tries to inject Marc, Foreman steps in to stop him. Cameron and Chase stand next to Foreman essentially blocking House from the patient. House comments to Stacy, as she pleads for him to inject Marc, you take the big black guy and I'll grab the little girl (meaning Cameron). He fakes a retreat and turns around stabbing Marc in the leg with the cocktail causing the attack. As the ducklings scramble to save Marc, House refuses to let them treat him until he gathers an uring sample. But the cathader has fallen out so House then stabs Marc with a siringe and extracts the urine from his bladder. This shocks the whole team. In the pathology lab they are watching for the test results and House's diagnosis is confirmed. They begin treatment for the AIP and the parralysis subsides. You see Marc and Stacy in the room together as she climbs into the hospital bed to snuggle. House is watching all this. When Cameron sees House watching Stacy snuggle with Marc, she approaches House. Says to him, "I thought you were too screwed up to love. I was wrong. You just couldn't love me" With a sad smile she says I am happy for you and then walks away. Stacy approaches House that night in his office. She tells him that he was the one for her. She lists all his good qualities - smart, attractive, funny, sexy. (Almost all the opposites of House's self loathing put downs from Love Hurts episode) She tells House she can't be with him, and that she was lonely when she was with him. She gives him a kiss on the cheek. The last scene of the series is House walking to the Rolling Stones tune, "You can't always get what you want." This is the same song played at the end of the pilot. House is at home and attempts to walk without his cane. It hurts too much he falls and when regained himself, he pops a white vicodin pill.
